Chapter Fifty Four: An Appearance

It is our choices, Harry, that show what
we truly are, far more than our abilities.

"Did it appear, already? Was it satisfying enough? Was the first manifestation of the Lore finally over?"

"It was deployed, Your Majesty."

"And the result? How did it go? Can anybody confirm my suspicions?"

"There seems to be no other problem encountered, sire. The outer space is a dimension of Fiction that is too little explored for a good reason. Spatial forces are simply too great to be adequately controlled."

"So when can the sufficient feedback be reasonably expected?"

"As soon as possible, Your Majesty. Again, there is no specific time frame to be given. This is an unprecedented move in order to revive the commonality of the Lore."

"Yes. Of course. The Lore is not yet dead. Do you also believe so?"

"I have complete faith for this operation, Your Majesty. I think the faith placed on something that is uncertain will help it manifest in the complete reality of the senses. We simply cannot find something that we are not actively seeking. Nothing worthwhile comes from accidents, and there is no coincidence, neither. This idea must be rejected at once."

"And what are we looking for in particular from the Lore, dear Prime Minister? What is it that is missing?"

"Our identity, sire. There is no doubt. We must know who we are, our commonality, heritage, and history. It is not only a duty to search the meaning of the past far and wide for the common patrimony of this entire colony but a religion where we put our complete hope and trust. We must master ourselves in order to move forward with this greater resolve, everything in sustained confidence."

"But what if the unknown was true? What if the enemy lurks in the darkness, waiting for an ambush? What then?"

"Then, we have to take the risks, Your Majesty. We cannot identify ourselves as cowards. We must dare to act in order to chart new territories. If there must be a difficult Toll to pay, then so be it."

"You are chivalrous as ever, a worthy warrior, indeed. I guess we are on the right track with this decision."

"Whatever occupies space must be an amalgamation of the good and the bad. I believe in balance, sire. Opposing forces assure us that power can tilt anytime, but there has to be a way to keep it in balance, nevertheless. If there is no known way to achieve this, the whole universe will conspire to make it known and manifested. That is how the Lore works. There is a certain mechanism in place. There is a profound order to be gathered done in the right perspective."

"Everything is politics as they say, if not power."

"It's the universal truth, Your Majesty. Power means good and evil. And while power may be abused, it can balance the forces within itself if a candid moral agent is ever present in the political arena."

"Not everybody is moral, I am afraid."

"That is why we hope for the best. We place our faith in the innate goodness of the actors playing their cards in secret, Your Majesty. We must make tough choices if we have to."

"The sphere of the game is always about choices, and greed is the worst motivation. It disregard everything that warns us of the evil nature of things to be had. That is the universal truth, as well. Do you believe so?"

"I believe so, Your Majesty. It truly is."
