Chapter Thirty Nine: Wherefore, Premises Considered
It is discouraging to think how many
people are shocked by honesty
and how few by deceit.
Noël Coward, Blithe Spirit
-o0o-
Beneath the danger
of a thousand promises
A crooked soul emerges
like the parliament of owls
Nurturing the sophisticated
grace and champ, of miracles
Clamped altogether by space
and time, in moments of truce
Yet, to what extent?
Truly extraordinaire.
-o0o-
Love is a verb, not a noun. It is active.
Love is not just feelings of passion and
romance. It is behavior. If a man lies to you,
he is behaving badly and unlovingly
toward you. He is disrespecting you and
your relationship. The words "I love you"
are not enough to make up for that.
Don't kid yourself that they are.
Susan Forward, When Your Lover Is A Liar:
Healing the Wounds of Deception and Betrayal
-o0o-
Love comes like a breeze
Felt like a shiver, but unseen
Into the many Lore prevails
A million baskets of eggs
Easter bunny, and all there is
Passion of the many souls
Commons, but uncommon
Altogether, more fantasy worlds
The lack of justice shows
There is no love, but hope.
-o0o-
The devil can cite Scripture for his purpose.
An evil soul producing holy witness
Is like a villain with smiling cheek,
A goodly apple rotten at the heart.
O, what a goodly outside falsehood hath!
William Shakespeare, The Merchant of Venice
-o0o-
Love and scriptures
The writers of holiness
Through whom, time is begotten
A series of prophetic deeds
And to cite the basis of dreams
Albeit the space in science
Crafted in the most serene
Messages of the prevailing Queen
Of spaceships and nebulas
Uninterrupted series of stars
Blackholes and equinox
Nothing to be prolonged
The dearest of merchants
Profits to the energy source.
-o0o-
Deceit for personal gain is one of history's
most recurring crimes. Man's first step towards
change would be thinking, counter-arguing,
re-thinking, twisting, straightening, perfecting
the believing every original idea he intends
to make public before making it public. There
is always an angle from which an absolute truth may appear askew just as there is always a personal emotion, or a personal agenda,
which alienates the ultimate good of mankind.
Criss Jami, Kilosophy
-o0o-
Then the premises wield
Like a story convincing,
yet ultimately corrupts
The never ending gloom
And the blackness of night
The stars ever twinkling
Suspended in space
And the fantasies live
Inside the dream
Nightmares that scare
of the thoughts provocative
Doors to the imagined
The deceit mostly received
And the betrayal from love
The several longings, persist
The crimes with higher fines
Tolerated enough still
But never to believe
-o0o-
Vengeance, retaliation, retribution, revenge
are deceitful brothers -- vile, beguiling demons
promising justifiable compensation to a pained
soul for his losses. Yet in truth they craftily
fester away all else of worth remaining.
Richelle E. Goodrich, The Tarishe Curse
-o0o-
Aliens, outsiders
of the moments curtailed
To seek retribution for sins
Shamelessly broken
for a piece of bliss
To gain control
Of emotions and pain
Death, suffering, tied to a chain
Fittingly retaliated
In the endless regret
Of art produced
And the painting reduced
An emotional flare up
And the burning desire
For the artist to go further
Into the farthest story arc
Expression of bold desires
By lovers and their kind
Wherefore, a goodness desired
An expression artistically profound!
-o0o-
Selling eternal life is an unbeatable business,
with no customers ever asking for their
money back after the goods are not delivered.
