Chapter Seventy: A Werewolf's Bizarre Death

The three witnesses couldn't speak at all; everything that happened a while ago was not to be underestimated, so all of them are now trembling in fear. The main processes of their internal memory seems to falter (it is still within the working standard of the Ministry of Space), and while the horror of the events shook them to the core and without a doubt, however, they cannot fully recollect the horrible scenes that transpired in this exact place just moments ago.

"Do any of you personally know who this werewolf is?" One of the Space Police who is investigating the matter asked the three witnesses in front of him. "Anybody can answer the question."

"I do," said one of the witnesses. "I am an enlisted Leprechaun, Officer."

"I understand. Are the rest of you also enlisted? Is there anybody who is not supposed to be in this orbital of the Ministry of Space?"

The three of them shook their heads. "We are all enlisted," the three of them said in unison.

"Right you are. So, who is he?" the same Space Police Officer asked again. The Werewolf was found by the authorities lying lifeless on the floor, and there are visible signs of a fight, like scratches all over his upper extremities, while there are deep and fatal bite marks on his neck and upper shoulders.

"He is our friend," said she.

"A friend? Okay, I got it," the Space Police Officer replied while busy scribbling his notes. "What did you see? What actually happened here?"

One of the three answered although hesitant at first.

"He was attacked by something . . . strange. It was an invisible ferocious being. Then, immediately thereafter, we heard a loud growl, and there was a noisy commotion that followed which prompted a deafening howl that we presume is coming from a wild monster. As we all kept our distance from all the sound of peril coming from the scene, we saw him struggling to put up a fight. But all of us are certain that something invisible was trying to kill him, but we couldn't see who it was. He was as if fighting against the wind, so we cannot be entirely sure who was trying to subdue him."

"Is that what the two of you also saw?" It was the second Space Police Investigator who interjected the question. "Can you corroborate the facts?"

The other two witnesses nodded their heads.

"Very well," the first Space Police Investigator said. "Is there any chance that the person who did this is a Vampire in disguise? Have you heard of that predominant criminal scheme before? Was there a smell of any scam?"

"I think I have somewhat heard of it before, yes, from the channels of publicity issued by the world Congress, but I do not know how to recognize the scheme. I wasn't too familiar."

The Space Police nods.

"I was asking you that question because undeniably those are bite marks right there. That can only be made by a Vampire, right?"

"Yes. It seems very likely," the three of the witnesses said in unison after looking at the specified proof. "But we never saw a Vampire," one of witnesses added.

"Are you three familiar with the 'Disguise and Plagiarism Act?' Right now, the three of you will be detained for further questioning. The law that I quoted specifically provides for three standardized tests that may be needed to clear you of any liability for this incident. I will have to take you into custody for now, but this is not an arrest."
