Chapter Twenty Nine: The Death of Grace Greenwich

She was found crucified in the dark corners of Pietropolis, known to the world of Fantasy as the Avenue of Dreams. Grace Greenwich was last seen with someone on the night that she was reported missing, in the Planet rue Dominard, so it was a complete mystery on how come she was transported all the way here, as well as being crucified without being heard by someone or anybody near the vicinity.

The circumstances of the death was quite odd, since based on immigration records, Grace was not recorded to have entered Pietropolis through the legal channels, which makes it more confusing because there was no valid motivation to have her killed that has been identified at this point, albeit she frequents the areas of the clubs for the rue Dominard party scene.

As the Space Police gathers information from the bar where she was last seen walking out with a man, the bar employees noted no abnormalities and suspicious behavior from Grace Greenwich, nor from the man she was seen drinking with. It was supposed by everyone that they were leaving the place for a potential one night stand.

That was all that there is regarding the eye witness accounts, and the events that transpired in Pietropolis and the crime scene itself seems very dubious, considering that the area of the Avenue of Dreams is a crowded place. It is nearly impossible to crucify someone in that dark corner without hearing any sort of noises.

Yet, the crime has been committed almost flawlessly. The scene of the killing offers no other clue, except that there were illicit substances found in a pocket of her clothing, as if waiting to be found, by whowever will be responding to the police call first.

The Home Affairs Operatives were almost convinced that this evidence has been planted to confuse the trajectory of the investigation as the mysterious circumstances of the murder already attracted hesitation in forming a solid conclusion. There were elements of the crime that simply do not add up.

Home Affairs has already informed the Space Police of its desire to back track the activities of Ms. Grace Greenwich at least a week prior to the murder, as well as securing a permit to uncover any dealings she might have made from the past six months that could explain some form of criminal intent to make her the convenient subject of this brutal, ruthless murder.

A background investigation is truly wanting at this point, owing to the fact that the investigation of the crime scene returned with no concrete results. The circumstances of the killing was as shady as to the suspicion of what actually motivated this cruel manner of death.

Was it a hate crime as some suppose or a form of retribution?
