Chapter Fourteen: The Secretary-General of the Central Committee of the Union of Fantasy Purveyors

Just at the outskirts of downtown Pietropolis is where the many offices of the Fantasy portfolio are located. It is considered to be one of, if not, the best side of town, with all the many sophisticated architecture that adorn the fabric of the buildings as well as the abundance of well-manicured garden and bushes. Just a few meters away from the iconic Reid Hall, which consists of a golden tower with a glorious Angel standing up on its tip, is where the office of the Central Committe is proudly sitting.

The Union of Fantasy Purveyors regulate the Dimensions of Dreams and Fantasy Act, which specifies the extent and purposes of this very important commercial activity that encompasses the many standards and quality assurance needed to make it more effective and safe to consume. Ever since the Soulpox Diseases Act were enacted after that ill-fated experiment involving the nourishment of the soul, more safety precautions have been placed in order to deter any evolution of the particles of the unknown that has been identified as the main cause of the sickness.

The quality and quantity of the current membership of the Union speak of the obvious desire of the world of Fantasy to have their trade and competitive advantage regulated by voluntarily subjecting themselves to the certification of the standards of their productive outputs. This has been the commitment of the majority of the purveyors residing within the Fantasy realm, and they mean no harm in wanting for more devolved responsibilities for the Minority Presidency.

Reid Hall has become the monument of strength and common resolve that has become the unifying factor of the world of Fantasy, be it political or social in nature, local or exterior affairs. In fact, Reid Hall's citation at its base has become the unofficial motto of the Minority Presidency. The historical marker reads,

"FROM THE DREAMS TO DEATH, THEN TRUTH"

Nobody really understands what the citation means, but it has stood there, with all of its glory, for many centuries now. Because the history of the iconic tower was rather less known from the books written on the topic, it was simply assumed that Reid Hall was a monument of greatness that defines Fantasy as "worthy of existence."

The office of the Central Committee has become the Minority Presidency's main portfolio that has practical significance, which can be seen both in governance and the accompanying assessment of the risks associated with the production of trade and all the legal substances that was expressly allowed by statute to be permitted in passing through by commercial trade routes.

One of the main responsibilities of the Secretary-General was to assume the Pharmacomythology profession as a matter of statutory regulation, and the Central Committee's office is tasked to take this important role under his supervision. Everyday, the laboratories are carefully testing substances to make sure nothing is missed, and that only safe products will be certified for sale.

However, today, a disaster struck one of the main laboratories of the Central Committee, and the Secretary-General, upon notice, has never been alarmed of the consequences of this seemingly trivial mishap.

Something more disastrous is waiting to happen.
