Chapter Two: rue Dominard

It was a controversial moment in the history of the Planetary Co-Op that the well-publicized Freedom of Information Bill was rejected by the Upper Chamber, crushing any hopes of opening the mystery of their existence and the initial movement for the improvement of the Unitary Ships, and other peripheral matters.

The news quickly spread in the capital, rue Dominard, as the Chancellor of the Constitution faces the press to explain the position of the Republics on what has been agreed upon by the Bicameral Conference Committee, substituting the Existential Library in lieu of opening the Lore of Commons, much to the dissatisfaction of the Delegation.

Even the Senator-Delegate from the Planet rue Dominard was not pleased with the Bicameral sitting, and the Delegation has fought hard on how the Existential Library will produce the information needed to tackle these threatening space phenomena, with the Upper Chamber agreeing to a supplemental budget for the Spacecraft Yard.

While no compromise was made regarding the Lore of Commons, a new bill will be introduced to authorize the creation of the Existential Library that is ought to pass both Houses without any further delay, as the Delegation seeks to find remedy to the vanishing trade routes while the economy is quickly feeling the brunt of unnecessary public spending.

No absolute freedom will ever resolve the current issues, and public opinion has strongly been leaning on opening the Lore of Commons, to deal with its unknown consequences for doing so, once and for all.

Apparently, the Upper Chamber was completely unanimous in rejecting the idea, citing the need to preserve and defend the Constitution.

As the Existential Library Bill was certified urgent by the President of the Planetary Co-Op, all legislative minds have started drafting the piece of legislation that will be admissible for the Republics. However, the Delegation has made it clear that information from these bills should serve a Unitary purpose within the planetary systems.

Knowledge is power, but it has limitations, and this very weakness can be exploited by unscrupulous minds, without any trace of harm or danger. Indeed, there is a certain degree of peril when politicians are resolving any important matter without showing remorse or accountability.
